Hydro Jetting

What is Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting is the process of using a high-pressured water to scour the inside surfaces of the plumbing pipes, removing scale, grease and other debris that's built up inside the pipe walls over time. As opposed to rodding, where we uses a tool to power a hole through the buildup, hydro jetting achieves a comprehensive cleaning of the pipes with just water.

Hydro Jetting vs Plumbing Snake

Materials get stuck in toilets, sink drains, or build up over time and may result in slow drains or overflows. If a plunger won’t move the clog, you need something a little more powerful. A plumbing snake (plumbing auger) or a hydro jet when clogs just won’t budge. Each is designed for different types of clogs.

A plumbing snake is ideal for minor clogs. If your plunger doesn’t move the material, a snake is usually enough to remove most clogs. Snakes can also alert you to more serious problems. For example, if it snake can’t break through the material, you may have a tree root in the line, and not a buildup of hair. A hydro jet, on the other hand, doesn’t just break up clogs, it clears your plumbing lines of material that builds up on pipe walls, such as minerals and grease. Snaking doesn’t thoroughly clean your pipes, so it is a temporary solution to many types of clogs. While hydro jetting can clear almost any clog.
